NRM's 2027 Senatorial Slate: 27 Rescue Candidates, One Mission — Rescue Nigeria

Following INEC's publication of the Final List of Candidates for the 2027 Senatorial elections, the National Rescue Movement (NRM) presents its slate for the Red Chamber — a national team of men and women who have answered the call to rescue Nigeria, one senatorial district at a time.

Every NRM senatorial candidate on that list is tied to a specific promise: to carry the Rescue Nigeria Blueprint into the Senate and translate its 24 pillars into legislation that changes lives.

How Many Candidates Is the NRM Fielding?

The NRM is contesting 27 senatorial seats — at least one in every geopolitical zone, with candidates cleared by INEC to stand in the following senatorial districts:

  • South-East (5): Abia North, Abia Central, Anambra North, Anambra Central, Anambra South, Ebonyi North, Ebonyi Central, Ebonyi South, Enugu East, Enugu North, Imo North

The Common Thread: The Honey Bee Standard

Every NRM senatorial candidate — regardless of zone, background or profession — is bound to the same standard, symbolised by the honey bee on the party's logo:

Hard work. Productivity. Selfless service. Loyalty. Efficiency. Discipline. Respect for constituted authority.

"The bee is honoured not merely because it labours, but because it labours for others," the NRM Blueprint says. "It does not consume the honey it produces. It serves as a provider — a diligent breadwinner whose hard work yields prosperity for the collective good."

That is what our senatorial candidates have committed to.

What Every NRM Senator Will Do

Each NRM senatorial candidate has been directed to:

  1. Publish a personal legislative agenda tied to the 24 Blueprint pillars
  2. Sign the NRM Integrity Charter — binding them to transparency, accountability, and the fight against corruption
  3. Hold regular town halls — at least once a month in their senatorial district
  4. Report quarterly on their legislative and constituency work
  5. Campaign on ideas, not insults — the NRM's first rule of political engagement

The Chairman's Charge

Prince Dr. Chinedu Obi, National Chairman of the NRM and Director-General of IPAC, made clear what is expected of every candidate:

"Let this be clear: the NRM is not a party of defectors or a vehicle for political convenience. We are a movement of Nigerians who believe that the rescue of this country is a task that must be done by people who are prepared to serve, and serve with integrity. Every one of our candidates on that list stands on the same value proposition — Rule of Law for Peace, Productivity for Shared Prosperity."

He added: "The Nigerian people should not be asking who is big and who is small. They should be asking: what is this person presenting to us? What has he done before? What is his credibility? That is the standard against which every candidate on that list — including ours — should be judged."

A Movement, Not Just a Party

The NRM is not asking Nigerians to vote for individual candidates. It is asking Nigerians to vote for a philosophy.

Rule of Law for Peace, Productivity and Shared Prosperity.

Slogan: NRM — Rescue Nigeria!

Guiding Principle: Social Justice anchored on Rule of Law for Peace, Productivity and Shared Prosperity.
